New Orleans

I personally feel every person should experience their 21 birthday in the great city of New Orleans, LA! Still to this day NOLA is one of my favorite cities. They have everything from good drinks, amazing food, live music, and lots of interesting people.

For people looking to experience all of what New Orleans has to offer I highly recommend spending a long weekend on bourbon street. My first experience was filled with some amazing drinks—-I highly suggest a hurricane or fish bowl. Once the drinks got flowing I actually ended up at my very first male strip club which is for sure something I will never forget! The men looked great, and I even hung out with one of the dancers late into the night. He showed my friends and I an amazing time all around the city. Finding a local is the key to seeing what else the city has to offer besides the tourist areas! We went to about 10 bars that night, had wayyy too many shots, rode a bull, and stayed out until the sun came up.

I recently heard a story from my friend about her time down in NOLA, when she casually ran into a celebrity and ended up hanging out with him all night! According to her what happens in New Orleans stays in New Orleans!!

Personally, a weekend of drinking and half naked people walking around is a blast for me, but I also wanted to see what else there was to do in the city. We decided to go on a swamp tour which was an amazing experience! The air boats were pretty loud, and a lot faster than I thought, but we saw about 30 alligators come right up to our boat! Our tour guide was awesome and so knowledgable about the alligators. At the end of the tour we even got to hold a baby alligator. I do not think the swamp tour is for everyone but if you really want to get a full experience of Louisana it is a must!

New Orleans is very well known for paranormal activity and their unique ghost tours. Our ghost tour started on Royal street and was about a 2 hour walk around the city. We saw all different kinds of cemeteries and learned a lot about the history of New Orleans. It was a very unique activity that I was unsure about at first, but ended up loving!!!

Overall, I love New Orleans, and their party atmosphere is right up my ally, but there is so much more New Orleans has to offer than just a party.

The beginning

Hey guys!! This blog is all about my traveling adventures, from going cross country, out of the country, and from city to city. I have fallen in love with spontaneous adventures and heading out without a strict itinerary to see where the day or night takes you.

The name of my blog is inspired by one of my first trips to Ohio. On a whim my mom and I decided to drive through the night to get back to Maryland. On the way we got just a littleeeee lost… on a mountain… around midnight. We were on a gravel road so far from any civilization when we saw a sign that said “Travel at your own risk”…

We ended up making it home to Maryland totally fine, just a few hours later from our small detour, and with a great story.

From then on nothing brings me more joy then to just get in the car, start driving and experience all the different parts of the world.
